I *wish* I could say it was getting into those hot, sticky, long summer days here… for some reason we seem to be perpetually stuck in cloudy 70s weather – not DC summer. I can’t believe I’m actually longing for DC summer humidity! Anyways…. :) This past Sunday was a rare glorious summer day this year, and my friends were hosting a backyard BBQ – perfect way to enjoy it. I threw together this fruit salad and it came out perfect for a hot summer afternoon. My friend gave me what felt like the best compliment – “tastes like summer”. I hope you have some hotter summer days than we’re having and you can make this simple salad to share and enjoy at a sunny outdoor party.
Ingredients
- 1 medium-large cantaloupe
- 5 ripe peaches
- 2 orange tomatoes
- large bunch fresh sage
Instructions
- Chop cantaloupe, peaches, and tomatoes into bite-sized pieces.
- Mince sage. Preferably you want at least half a cup of sage pieces in the end. I didn't have enough and it was still good, but would have benefitted from more.
- Mix everything together and serve! Flavors will benefit from a bit of time to chill in the fridge if you have a chance.
- Enjoy!!
