Today’s post comes as a guest post from a new friend of mine, Martha Mishkin. We met through a mutual friend this past weekend at Todd Gray’s vegan brunch at Muse at the Corcoran (oh. my. god. SO. GOOD!!!), and when she started telling me about this smoothie I knew I a. had to try it, and b. had to share it with you guys. I mean, it’s full of kale!! With an interesting twist of using frozen kale that gets you more kale while hiding the bitter kale flavor – all in all, total win! Check it out below. :)
Martha says:
Smoothies are so much fun to experiment with; I encourage you to get creative. This is my current favorite. Some of those ingredients might sound bizarre to you…I promise it doesn’t taste like kale! The flaxseed & pumpkin seed add some important nutrients such as healthy fats & protein. The flax has omega 3 and the pumpkin seeds have iron. The cinnamon gives it a nice flavor. This smoothie is healthy & hearty…you can start your day feeling fabulous and stay full until lunch. Bonus…you got 2 servings of green veggies down first thing in the morning! Enjoy!
